Me on Facebook - OMM and a puzzle

I found that Facebook is by far the best social networking website in every way possible, and right now I want to look at it from a developer's point of view. Anyone can extend the website by custom applications, so I created one related to OMM, and I found some puzzles there, and I seem to be the first to publicize the solution to the one named Easy Puzzle Mountain.

Awesome YP-P2 and Samsung's lies

I've just bought a Samsung YP-P2 multimedia player, it truly is amazing with its wide touchscreen and all. The problem is that product support sucks big time, so I'm writing this post to help folks realize that they don't need the official software (called Samsung Media Studio), they don't even need Windows to enjoy all the benefits of this player. Basically, preventing vendor lock-in is my philosophy, and don't worry, it's totally possible in this case. You can even create SVI video files with free software, I'll tell you how.

Uncrackable encryption - think of the future

I had the greatest idea. What if you could encrypt something in a way that noone can decrypt? Not even you :). (Yet.) Meet my new encryption algorithm, for which there's no decryption algorithm (kinda). Encrypt your data and say goodbye to it. A creative abuse of cryptography. And it still makes (some) sense!

In the spotlight of OMM

Wow, it's hard to believe that I haven't written anything for so long :O. I had reasons, and anyway, now I'm back again with some great news: I was in the spotlight of The One Million Masterpiece, which means I was on the opening page for two weeks! Here's why.

Rocketboom photoshop contest

There was this contest (yeah, took a lot of time for me to post it, again :)). Here are my entries. Not a big deal, but I created them, so they belong here. One of them was featured here.

Posters the double-tailed way

I like the funny posters made by the Hungarian Double-tailed Dog Party very much, my respect goes to their masterpieces. I decided to do my own, smaller version of this project, which was accomplished today. I hope noone minds and the world became a little happier place :).

About the long silence

Not as much visitors and comments as I anticipated (or rather hoped), and I kinda lost interest in this website. But I was wise enough not to shut it down completely, and now I feel the same that I felt when I started it, I just want to write again. It's not that I have a lot of time now, because I don't, I'm just gonna write when I simply feel like it. I started a new hobby, more on this later. I also started writing about series on tv.com, more details later, too.

Goddamn Hungarian State Railways

I started university 4 and a half years ago and that's when I started travelling by train. I didn't have too much expectations and I felt it was good enough for me. It could have stayed the same quality or become better over the years I thought, and that's where I was wrong. Now I'm so pissed I decided it deserves some publicity from me, too. It's all familiar for Hungarian readers, but let the foreigners learn something new. Click to read my story and don't expect a happy ending.

Minesweeper solver AI

Not much posts lately, I'm a busy man now and it's gonna stay like this for quite some time. But here I am now with an application (AI as in artificial intelligence) that plays minesweeper perfectly and so fast that it's fun to watch: 1 second records on all three built-in levels. I know that similar applications exist but none of them were good enough for me, so as usual, I made my own version. Still not the best possible but I learnt a lot from it and maybe you can, too.

Morph

I had a few spare hours and I made a face morph video. You can see it in low quality on YouTube or you can download the high quality version from here. (It's a video where faces smoothly transform into each other.)

The One Million Masterpiece

There's this website where you can register and get a small area where you can draw anything you want. It of course awoke my creativity and I made my own drawing, it looks pretty nice. How did I do it?

Ashes and Snow

I'd like to bring to your attention a wonderful work of art. I, being a dreamer, enjoyed it exceptionally, but I'm sure that anyone with a little sense for art will appreciate this. It includes a photo album, a movie and a book, too, which are unfortunately a bit expensive, but the website is more than sufficient to feel this dream-like, soul-soothing experience.

BigNum 1.1

Now it's a lot faster, and I added some new functionality, so now using it you can experiment with RSA (sample RSA code included). You can learn a little more in the previous version's post.

The Motorcycle Diaries, Apocalypto, Borat

I saw these movies during the past few weeks, here's my short review.

How to judge religions

As opposed to a previous post the topic will be the religions directly and it was inspired by an interesting conversation I saw on tv. Thank god that meaningful programmes still exist... And I'm hoping that the following writing will be meaningful as well.

Starfish movement

Have you heard about the movement which got its name from starfish? It's a very inspiring story, such an attitude would be welcome in every aspect of life.

Dharma - the happy life

I mentioned previously that I'm gonna write a little more about eastern religions. Lucky me that I haven't done that before because I read two more books during the holidays which I got from Kati again and they're about this topic, too, so now I can write about three times as much experience. This post is not aimed at the religion but to give you some good advice to think about (these advices were by the way inspired by eastern religions, but that doesn't make a difference). Believe me, following these could just benefit you!

RecursiveZoom 1.0

I haven't posted for a long time because of the holidays, but I did some stuff to post about, the first one is an interesting utility. See the sample image and video first, then you can give it a try yourself.

Paulo Coelho: The Alchemist

The Alchemist from Paulo Coelho is another wonderful book, suggested by Kati again, and now I suggest it to everyone. There's not much to write about it. You like dreaming or looking for the meaning of your life? Read it! It was a direct hit for me.

BigNum 1.0

I made a simple bignum library in C#. If this is just what you're looking for, give it a try, I don't expect anyone else to be interested in it :).
